Law of attraction (Part 2)

December 8th, 2007

Health: The law of attraction in action

  • The placebo effect is an example of the law of attraction in action. When a patient truly believes the tablet is a cure, he receives what he believes and is cured.
  • Focusing on perfect health is something we can all do within ourselves, despite what may be happening on the outside.

What you resist you attract

  • Because you are powerfully focused on what you resist with emotion you attract it. To change anything, go within and emit anew signal with your thoughts and feelings.
  • You cannot help the world by focusing on negative things. As you focus on the worlds negative events, you not only add to them, but you also bring more negative things into your own life.

Energy is everything

  • You are an energy magnet, so you electrically energize everything to you and electrically energize yourself to everything you want.
  • Energy cannot be created or destroyed - it just changes form. Therefore, the pure essence of you has always been and always will be.

Things you can do to feel good now

  • You get to fill the blackboard of your life with whatever you want. The more you use the power within you, the more power you will draw through you.
  • Do what you love, if you don’t know what brings you joy ask, ‘What do I love to do?’ As you commit to this, you will attract an avalanche of good things.
  • What you do with your life is up to you, whatever you choose is right. The power is all yours.

Law of atttraction (Part 1)

The law of attraction says that like attracts like.

  • When you think a thought, you are also attracting like thoughts to you. Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source - you.

The law of attraction is a law of nature.

  • It is as impartial as the law of gravity. Nothing can come into your experience unless you summon it through persistent thoughts.

The law of attraction grants our every c

Do you have clutter in your life?

November 30th, 2007

What is clutter I hear you ask? Well it can be both physical (untidy house) and mental (negative beliefs). Do you have clutter; well you might if you are prone to any of the following behaviors:

  • Attached to old things out of fear of want, or reluctance to let go of the past
  • Distracted from concentrating on the important work of your true desire
  • Paying too much attention to unimportant things in your life
  • Rushing so fast you rarely get a moment to catch your breath
  • Are you self-indulgent and undisciplined?

Do any of the following drain your energy? If they do you might want to find a way to eliminate some of them from your life.

  • Daily doses of doubt (self talk about being useless, worthless or how unlikely your chances of happiness and fulfillment are)
  • Complaining as a sport
  • Not saying ‘no’ when you need to.
  • Not being self-reliant
  • Over committing to others
  • Under-committing to yourself
  • Feeling sorry for yourself
  • Tolerating people who work against you
  • Messy house

Using time wisely

October 29th, 2007
Comments Off

How much time are you spending on creating change in your life? Are you spending time constructively or are you actually wasting time? And if you are, do you realize how this will affect your chances of success? When you know what you want to do, the next step is to start working towards making it happen. But how much time do you allocate to your chosen goal(s)?

Of course for a lot of people it depends on how much time they have. But do you actually need a lot of time? What about if you don’t have a lot of time, perhaps you have work commitments and a family to consider? Maybe you work 10 hours a day then have to come home and feed the children. Or are you one of the lucky ones who has many hours in the day to spend on your chosen goal.

But just how important is having a lot of time exactly?

I am not sure it is how much time you have but rather how you spend it that counts.

I think what is important is not how much time you spend on your goal each day, (although the more time you spend the quicker you will get to where you want to be) but rather how you spend the time that counts.

Just how constructive are you with the time you have?

Are you making monthly goals, weekly goals, daily goals or none at all and just doing stuff as and when you feel like it?
How much time do you want to spend on your goals?
Are you making enough time for yourself?
Are your goals really a priority for you?
Are your monthly goals being achieved? If not, why not?

Time becomes a precious commodity when you realize you aren’t getting any of it back.

This is important because it isn’t just about the time it takes to complete something, it is more than that. It is about showing yourself how committed you are to your chosen goal, it is about being more than just the words you speak, it is about understanding the long term gains to your short term movements / actions.

10 minutes a day spent actually doing something towards your goal is better than 1 hour thinking about it.

If you know something has to be done, why don’t you go and do it the moment the thought enters your head, rather than making a mental note to do it later, (unless you are driving or some other similar activity) because more often than not in the time that follows you will think of more things that need to be done, which will then relegate the initial thought further
down the list of priorities.

Become good at getting things done. Need ideas for a business? Spend time 10 minutes a day brainstorming ideas. Need to lose weight? Spend 15 minutes a day walking to the shops, or wherever. Need to learn Spanish? Spend 20 minutes a day with an audio CD, learning new words.

Learn to be more constructive with the time you have got, you may be surprised by just how much you accomplish.

If need be write down a list of 5 things that you must complete each day and make sure they get completed no matter what, doing this will ensure you are constantly moving in the right direction.

Set yourself free - Edmund O’Neil

August 23rd, 2007

Set yourself free from anything that might hinder you in becoming the person you want to be. Free yourself from the uncertainties about your abilities or the worth of your dreams, from the fears that you may not be able to achieve them or that they won’t be what you wanted. Set yourself free from the past. The good things from yesterday are still yours in memory; the things you want to forget you will, for tomorrow is only a sunrise away. Free yourself from regret or guilt, and promise to live this day as fully as you can.

Set yourself free from the expectations of others, and never feel guilty or embarrassed if you do not live up to their standards. You are most important to yourself; live by what you feel is best and right for you. Others will come to respect your integrity and honesty.

Set yourself free to simply be yourself, and you will soar higher than you’ve ever dreamed.

Negative Thinking

August 16th, 2007

Do you spend time being negative? Looking at things in your life in a negative way? Do you think negative thoughts about your life and your future life? Do you sometimes feel like just giving up, or giving up on yourself? When I think negatively I don’t think about my goals in a very positive way at all. Negativity causes me to cloud my thoughts in a bad way and think too much about what won’t happen or hasn’t happened in my life. Not a very useful to state to be in, I’m sure you’ll agree.

I mean what’s the point to this?

It is pointless and stupid to do this, all you are doing when you do this is allowing your mind to focus on negative things which of course it will do. The mind will focus on whatever you want it to focus on.

Instead of thinking of all the plans I have and dreams for the future, when I think negatively I immediately lower my sights of what I think is possible for me. Instead I dwell on my limitations, think of my past in a bad way and think that my future will turn out like my past or maybe even worse.

Negative thinking will crush you, it will take your life to exactly the place you don’t want it to go.

Of course it’s easy to talk about negativity but what do we do to get rid of it? After all we all feel down sometimes don’t we? Certain events can trigger off a string of bad thoughts about ourselves. We are human, sometimes we find ourselves at the mercy of our thoughts. But we shouldn’t, we shouldn’t let this happen, we shouldn’t let our thoughts control us like this, it’s useful to remember that when you are on a path of self development, the mind is there for you to use anyway you want. Your mind is capable of taking you to the highest highs; it is also equally capable of taking you to the lowest lows.

Make sure yours doesn’t take you to the latter.

Negative thoughts taken to the extreme can be seriously bad for your health ie suicidal thoughts. What is really happening here? It is you thinking such hopeless thoughts for the future that you don’t perceive that there is anything worth living for. Perhaps you harbor a belief somewhere that you don’t actually deserve to succeed, that you are only worth a miserable existence and that is all you will ever have. Hey! We are all worth more than we already have and everybody deserves a shot at something better. Stop hating yourself and thinking this way.

If this is something you can identify with, what do you do to break out of it?

Negativity is like a poison that can ruin the human spirit and suck the life right out of you. Negativity comes from living in your mind far too much, either in the past or the future and feeling powerless to do anything about it.

There is only now and that’s all there ever will be. If you find yourself thinking negatively take a look around, breathe deeply and realize that none of your negative thinking is real. It only exists in your head. Like beliefs it’s all in your mind.

Too much thinking in itself is not a very good thing to be doing. It is certainly a factor where negativity is concerned; this is certainly something I have found.

Be positive about the path you are on, it may not be easy, however it doesn’t take much to change your life around and one way to help yourself is to stop negative thinking, treat it like a bad habit that you need to quit.

Our Attitudes Story by the American author Charles Swindoll

July 31st, 2007

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company…a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.

Worrying is pointless

July 27th, 2007

How much of your time do you spend worrying, worrying about what might or might not happen in your life? I have heard that we spend most of our time either thinking about the past or the future but a very small amount of time living in the present. Worrying is pointless, it solves nothing, it can bring you down and causes you to live inside your head.

Worrying about the future?

My first post

June 30th, 2007

Welcome to my blog, this will be my first ever post… this is where it all starts. So what’s this blog all about? Well this blog is all about creating change in your life, how you can help yourself to become the person you want to become, or do the thing you most want to do.

I am not quite sure what will go into this blog at the moment, but I know it will help me clarify my own thoughts and thinking, and maybe help other people to. Although I believe it will contain information around the following subjects, NLP, developing self confidence, setting goals, changing direction, overcoming shyness, removing negative thinking, how the mind works and some of my own random thoughts. I am by no means an expert in any of these fields, what this blog will contain will be my own thoughts on things I have read, things I have done, or activities that I am currently doing to help me promote change in my life.

I think there are times in all of our lives, where things don’t quite go our way. Perhaps we become bored of who we are, lose interest in our jobs, suffer from depression, lose self esteem or maybe we just have a desire to change something in our lives, be it ourselves or what we do. I think if you are one of these people you will find something useful in this blog.
