new ebook ‘The experience’

Check out my new ebook, it is called ‘The experience’ and it is about the life you are currently living, this free ebook looks at how we create our very own life situations based on the choices we make, and what we choose to think about. It is written from the perspective that we are more than what we are currently experiencing, and that we will exist beyond our current body. It looks at the non existence of time, how our beliefs dictate our reality, the nature of thought, the illusion of difference, how it is sometimes necessary to make changes in life, and how rising beyond thought can sometimes be a very useful thing to do.

Here are a couple of excerpts:

from the chapter ‘choices’:

The experience is a choice and together with learning about yourself and life, it is important for you to understand here and now that great power lies within you. But perhaps before you can really utilize that potential that underlies your very existence, you must understand that it is you who needs to take full responsibility for your life, and not make excuses for the way it has been, or look to blame people or events that are outside of your control, as this is a losing game to play. The life you live now and in the future will always be down to you and no one else, and this is great to know and be aware of because the power lies within you at all times, and as soon as you start to blame others or external events you can begin to feel very small and powerless to do anything about it. The result of which will be that all of what you will commonly get to experience in life, will be laced with feelings of frustration and anger as you don’t feel you can do anything to change it, however this is false as it will always be you who holds the key to your life. It is you who is in charge at all times, you make the choices and you get to live the experience.

From  the chapter ‘the illusion of being different’:

Life situations and the realities which make up people’s lives are all based on perception and interpretation, and this is always different for everyone. For the most part, people who live in different countries obviously still share similarities (that which make us human for a start), and when we think about the world at large, including the people in it, we can either look for the similarities or we can look for the differences. People living in other countries will always be similar at some level, albeit in slightly different ways, as each person and culture has its own way of doing things that may not be universally shared. People are still people regardless of the geographical location. We are all human, we all live on planet earth, we all have to eat, sleep, make a living, look after ourselves and those around us, yet people, still hold fears about different cultures and populations living in obscure parts of the world. Is it really so hard to learn to get along with each other when we clearly have so much in common, both inside and outside the body.

Give yourself praise when you take action

Once you have defined a vision and set goals for yourself, it should be full steam ahead, it simply will not benefit you to put yourself down when you are on a path of creating a better life for yourself.

You should always be fully supportive of yourself and your endeavors. It is important you become your own best friend, this means using your mind in a positive way and not letting it use you. Self doubt and loathing will not help you, they will get you nowhere. All they will do is keep you stuck in a self perpetuating loop and negativity and self doubt.

Every little bit of action you take to create a better life should be celebrated not negated by negative self talk or a negative attitude you have towards yourself (if you do then it will be like one step forward, negative self talk, then two steps back).

If you find that there are situations in which you speak negatively towards yourself? Learn to ignore it or simply observe it. Don’t be impatient with yourself, learn that success takes time and that once you are on the right path you need to be on your own side. You need to continually support yourself, through everything you do and so it is important to give yourself praise when you make progress (however small) and not to berate yourself when things go wrong (if they do).

Don’t beat yourself up when things don’t go the way you want them to, if you do this it is like some form of mental torture. Remember that if you’re having a bad day, or things aren’t going right for you it is only temporary, realize that you are on a path of progress, you have a goal, don’t let minor things get in the way, get over them quickly, move on and spend your energies elsewhere.

Learn to accept yourself for who you are at any moment in time, you define your own happiness nobody else does this for you. Look out for yourself and look after yourself in life first and foremost and always be ready to praise yourself when you achieve things in life, no matter how small they may appear to be.

1. Your boss asks you to deliver a presentation tomorrow in front of 20 delegates from a potential new client. Do you:

a. Accept the challenge, telling your boss they won’t regret choosing you and start to develop your slides right away.
b. Ask them if they are absolutely sure they want you to do it, suggesting that it may be better to offer it to someone else.
c. Panic, start to get an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach causing you to take the next 2 days off work sick with worry.

2. You are at a restaurant, when the waiter arrives with the bill, you notice you have been charged for 2 extra glasses of wine. Do you:

a. Immediately remind the waiter of exactly how many glasses you had and that you have no intention of paying for any more.
b. Politely ask the waiter if they are sure the bill is correct, but still pay anyway.
c. Start to question if you did actually have 2 extra glasses of wine and pay the bill to avoid any fuss.

3. You are on holiday and have just arrived at your hotel, you booked a room with a sea view overlooking the swimming pool, however when you arrive you are told this room has already been taken, and instead are placed in a room at the back of the hotel right next to a building site. Do you:

a. Ask to see the manager right away, explain to them that you have paid for a sea view and will not accept anything else. Tell the manager that either they move you to the room you were promised or they refund you the cost of your holiday.
b. Ask why you are not able to have the room with the sea view, explain that you have paid for a room with a sea view and ask if they have anything similar.
c. Gladly accept the new room next to the building site and remind yourself that these things happen from time to time.

4. You take a taxi journey you have taken many times before, however when you reach the destination you realize the driver has not used the meter. He then asks for 5 times what you have paid previously. Do you:

a. Explain to the driver you have travelled this way many times before and that you know how much it costs, and will not pay any more.
b. Ask the driver why he didn’t use the meter and tell me him the price seems excessive.
c. Pay the fare, and remind yourself to walk next time.

5. You are at work and your boss half an hour before you are due to finish asks you to stay for an extra 3 hours, however it is your best friends birthday and you have already arranged to go out for the evening, do you:

a. Refuse your boss, explaining that you have made alternative plans, and that if you are required to work extra hours again you are to be given much more notice.
b. Tell your boss you had made plans but agree to work the hours anyway.
c. Happily agree to work the hours, even though you don’t want to.

6. You set a goal for yourself to lose some weight in the next 3 months, do you:

a. Not only complete the goal, but also lose more weight than you first anticipated.
b. Lose some weight but start to get discouraged and eventually change your original goal.
c. You rarely set goals as you never succeed at anything.

Mostly A’s

You are confident; you can handle yourself well in all situations and are able to get what you want most of the time.

Mostly B’s

You are somewhat confident and can be assertive although occasionally you do let people walk all over you.

Mostly C’s

You are not very confident at all and rarely get what you want, you very easily taken advantage of. You know you need more confidence and to learn to be more assertive in most situations.

Free mp3 audio to help you live a happier life

There have been some changes made to the main site and if you haven’t seen it you might want to check it out now. This blog is not main part of this site (although there are a lot of articles here). The main site now contains 19 professional MP3 audio tracks to help you start making changes to your life immediately.

Uncertain times means you have to take action

In these uncertain times when there is no guarantee that will be in our jobs next week or month, we may be forced into making serious decisions about our future, some may even be forced into taking serious action. Whereas before you may have wanted to take action and create something new in your life but instead you talked yourself out of it. Right now you might not have that option, you may have to take action, your very livelihood may depend on it.

If you have lost your job recently then you are going to have to take action to find another one, and if you don’t find another one you are going to have to take action to make some money one way or another.

Good or bad you won’t really have time to think about things in this current climate, and this could be a good thing, because sometimes too much thinking and we more often than not talk ourselves out of taking action and come up with excuses instead.

But not today, not in today’s world. We don’t have a choice.

It can become a do or die situation, negative thinking really is not an option, there is no time for it. You need money now. If you have been forced out of a job, then right now is probably a great time to start creating your own new reality. You may not have another other option especially as many other people could be competing for the same job as you.

And at this stage when it is a matter of getting food on the table, coming up with excuses as to why something won’t happen will not help. Taking action is the only real strategy when times are difficult.

It really pays to just simply take action rather than look for ways it won’t work out or how it hasn’t worked out in the past.

Don’t take time and look for the negatives in life, it may seem hard sometimes when all around there appears to be evidence to suggest otherwise, but this is exactly what you don’t do, instead you remain positive, and you take action and you make something happen.

We can all create much in our lives, more than we think we can, but certainly not when we listen to doubt shouting in our face. Action is the key to silencing self doubt.

If you want to create your own reality it is up to you to make it happen.

We live in uncertain times in this day and age there can be no guarantees, even if you are currently employed there is nothing to say you will still be employed next month. And so even if you don’t yet have to take it upon yourself to start taking action to make something happen in your life you may have to in the very near future.

So if you are faced with uncertainty, remember to become clear about what to do, stay focused and keep taking action until what you want or need becomes your daily reality.

Two hundred years ago

If you are not sure what you would like to do with your life, as an exercise try thinking about what you would do to pass the time if you lived in the past, without modern technology. For example: What would you do if you lived your life 200 hundred years ago? Think of all the jobs and opportunities available to you today and then transport yourself back in time where there were less opportunities, how would you spend your time, what job could you see yourself doing if you lived in a different era where there was no modern day technology and where life was completely different?

What do you think you would most likely do?

All people are capable of great things

Everybody is capable of great things, but not everybody believes they can achieve great things, which is a real shame as the world doesn’t need another person who simply doesn’t believe they will get what they want; the world is already full of people like this.

What it needs are people who come up with new ideas, follow through on their goals, believe they can be successful and go out and create the life for themselves that they most desire. There aren’t enough people like this in the world today.

Too many people are living a life far removed from what they really want. Don’t be like them. You are here for a reason and are entitled to live the life you most want to live. The world is a stage and it wants you to take your place and it is by holding belief in yourself that you can and will be able to create the life you most want. By not holding self belief you will almost certainly miss out on a lot of what life has to offer, so you have a choice, either believe in yourself and refuse to and accept anything less or accept where you are now is where you will always be.

When you start anything new in your life believe that you will be successful, and that it will all work out in the end. it is possible to have the life you most want but you will first have to believe it is possible.

Form self belief before you start your journey

Lacking self belief is like starting a journey, but already knowing you are never going to reach the destination, sooner or later you will realize it is pointless continuing and so you will stop and give up. With self belief you wouldn’t have this problem, you would just keep going, until you reached your destination. If you got on a bus with a destination in mind, but the driver confirmed to you that the bus didn’t go there, would you still buy a ticket and ride anyway? Probably not, then why bother setting off on a journey to create a new life for yourself if you don’t really believe it will happen?

Nobody starts a journey and hopes they acquire some self belief along the way, your tank (self belief) needs to be full before you start.

Ask yourself this, what exactly are you attempting to make happen that you can’t have some self belief in yourself. Is your goal to feed, clothe and look after 500,000 starving children, or are you planning to arrange a tea party on the moon for a group of 25 senior citizens. Just what is it you want to achieve in life?

It is about having a firm belief in your abilities to do what is necessary to take your life to the next level. It is not about having faith in 100 strangers you just met on the street to get you there, but faith in the one person you know better than anyone else in the world. Is it really so hard to believe in yourself?

What sort of journey do think it will be if you decide to not really believe that you will get what you want, but you will try anyway? How far do you think you will get?
